Day 4: Clay Bank to Kildale

Today was a breeze compared to yesterday’s mammoth task. The first couple of miles were challenging however, with an almost vertical climb to the top of the first moor of the day.

Once that was out of the way it was pretty plain sailing with a fairly flat ramble for the following 8 miles. We arrived in Kildale at around 3pm so looked into getting the train to our hotel until we realised there was only the one each day and it was 90 minutes away, a quick loan of a locals phone (we had no signal) and we had a minibus arrive to deliver is to the Kings Head Inn In Newton under Rosebury.

Dinner and an early bed again as tomorrow is going to be a rough ride, 15 miles of challenging terrain but we do pass the monument to Captain Cook which the boys are excited about.
